A Question For You…

Started by Justin Wise · 7 months ago

Well? Let me know.
I’ll start. I feel like I can’t say that sometimes I don’t have an answer when people come to me with problems.
How about you ?

  • Easy - "----ing A Bubba!"

Swearing still offers a powerful way to express oneself, when used sparingly.
  • That sometimes, even after years, I still have to fight with the thought of "What if this Christianity thing is all just an elaborate hoax?"
  • That sometimes when I read the Bible, I think you have to ignore a lot of scripture to not be a Universalist Christian.

    Sometimes.

    That was cathartic.

    I'm feeling judged.
  • Wow. This is getting fun. Let me add one more:

I feel like you can't say that the current church system in America looks a lot different than what I read in the Bible. Not aesthetically, but functionally.
  • Asking the hot chick several rows down from me for her name and number and if she's available on Friday night.
  • that i'm surrounded by people that i love, who love me, but feel incredibly lonely.
  • "You spent how much money on flatscreen TVs for announcements and customized banners?

What missionary or local mission could we have supported with that money?"

Maybe I do need to say that.
  • Jesus Christ was not a republican...

or a democrat for that matter.
  • The present day church in America has it all wrong.
  • The book "Pagan Christianity" is the worst thing that has happened to The Church since "Purpose Driven Life"
  • Nobody ever went up to Jesus after his blistering warning about religous hypocrisy and shook his hand and said, ''Thanks, rabbi. That was a nice talk.''
  • I just farted.
  • Don't answer my "how are you doing" with a bunch of things Christianese. I really just want to know how you are- now how spiritual you think I want you to be or you think you should be.

This may seem really horrible but I mean it in love. "I don't want to watch another movie clip. Even if it is a great sermon illustration. Lets just get to the Biblical point"

And at my current church... "Yes yes you ARE very cool and trendy. Now stop worrying if someone is looking at you, just worship." (of course this also should be said to me sometimes. sigh.)
  • This kind of reminds me of post secret, have you heard of it?
    http://postsecret.blogspot.com/
  • that sometimes i'm sad to be affiliated with christians in general when these christians have such a hard time being REAL in the REAL WORLD
  • Dave: I felt the same things to. Like, how is this all going to shake out in the end with the people who don't follow Jesus? The Spirit that lives in me, I think, he's just so gentle and kind.

    Marc: Hilarious.

Anne: Good to see you on BeDeviant.com. Thanks for sharing.

    Shane: Amen.

I didn't know George Barna went to Grandview College. Weird.

    Marcie: Me too.

April: It's like, I don't want you to tell me how your weekend prayer retreat went and how you got caught up into the third heaven when I ask if you watched the Hawkeyes play. Right?

    Annie: Good to see you.
  • I feel that you can't say that the youth are the future of the church and that they should be allowed to be involved, and REALLY mean it. Sure, they will say it and let you say it, but when it comes to action, they seem to forget that they said anything.
  • Sometimes I really hate the rhetoric I hear in church. I am tired of talk. I want to see the all the words put into action and it truly be meant. i.e. love ye one another. Instead of seeing the gossip, sarcasm, scorn, haughty self-assuredness and vanity; all in the name of attempting a perfection that don't exist in flesh and can only be achieved by God's own spirit! There... I vented my spleen. That felt good.
  • i feel like i have to be censored at church, and if people really new what i was thinking sometimes they just might not let me in next week.
  • (I came to this from the Best of 08 post so my comment is late, but had to be made...)

Something I feel like I can't say in church is "Is it time to go home yet?"

My three year old, however, has absolutely no problem saying this.
    And loudly too.
